About Me

Creating this blog I decided to call myself "Arkana" and publish posts under this pseudonym. Actually it is kind of a disassociation of my nickname.


I'm 27 years young (even if I feel significantly older or younger from time to time) and earn my living with an "ordinary office job". One may say I'm an average citizen, who has given up believing in her own dreams at some point in the past.

Unfortunately, this fact makes me very sad when I think about it and I speculate a lot how I can make my dreams come true and if I'm prepared to take a risk for them. In the end there is another question coming up: Which dream among the thousands is the right one? Is it worth to follow it, or is it a better option to play it safe?

On this blog I'm going concentrate an all the joyful things in life and the things warming up my heart. Concerts, music, gaming, experiences and a lot more impressing me and coming to my mind will be written down right here.

I love travelling... but unfortunately I haven't been to a lot of places further away. Most of the time I did short trips within the EU. But there a lot of places I want to go to in the future. My aim is to visit at least one of the following cities a year. Most of the cities are well-known and the pictures summarize the atomsphere pretty well. Gaming: Tomb Raider feat. Lara Croft

I assume that nearly everyone has a game in mind he connects with his childhood and good memories. When I play this game I think back to a lot of awesome hours with my best childhood friend. We sat in front of the computer and tried to figure out the right tactic and the correct way out of the level. As it wasn't designed for multiplayers, we had to take turns at gaming. As a result we often shouted at each other - but we almost spent the same amount of time laughing about our mistakes or achievements. The first game I actually remember (apart from learning games for children etc.) is Tomb Raider. My father gave it to me, although I was way too young to play it. I was so nervous when I started the game and the first wolves attacked Lara. I got cold hands and tried to shoot them down. I remember the exciting feeling and the fear crawling through my veins. Music Recommendation: Lord of the Lost

For me, music is one of the most joyful things in life. It's transporting emotions and makes me feel free like a bird. It's more than just a song out of the jukebox -  and that's the reason why I'm absoluteley in love with attending concerts. This weekend I went to a gig of Lord of the Lost. They're a rather young band, founded back in 2007 and experienced a few member changes. I trust that these changes contributed to their increasing success in the past year, as the line-up seems to be quite harmonical and they manage to transfer the fun they have on stage to the audience. What can I say? They're definitely a live band. Their CDs aren't bad and I really like listening to them, but the live performance and the voice of the singer are even more awesome on stage.
